Located in Washington State's San Juan Islands, Gull Reef is between Spieden Island & John's Island. It is a small rock outcropping approximately .5 nm west-northwest of Cactus Islands, and 3.5 nm north of Roche Harbor. The Swirling Reef of Death can be dangerous during tidal exchanges, so please be sure to consult with reliable tide & current information before attempting to dive this site, and try to dive during slack water.

But don't let the name scare you away! In the right conditions, this is one phenomenal dive! The diversity of life here is great, and the visibility is usually pretty good, sometimes hitting 30+ feet.

Check tides for Limestone Point, John's Island, Waldron Island, and Kellett Bluff to see what the tides are doing today. Check with a local dive shop or a current publication of NOAA Tide Tables for the days you want to dive.
